ABOUT ...GETTING TO KNOW:

Alice M. Batzel is a published Author, Playwright, Journalist, Poet, and Freelance Writer. She's currently writing in the areas of novels, humor, magazine articles, stage scripts, short stories, poetry, and reviews.

Her earlier publishing achievements have primarily been creative, human interest, as well as technical research report writing within her former working career of 32 years as a professional credentialed Health Information Management Specialist in the acute care hospital setting.

Originally from Kentucky, Alice is a true "Southerner at heart" and claims the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast as the place where her roots are planted; having spent much of her youth growing up there, it remains the home of many of her relatives and closest friends. She has maintained a lifelong love of collecting seashells and sand dollars, enjoys spending time at the beach, and is an advocate for the preservation of sea turtles. Her life's travels have taken her far from her southern home, her southern accent has long been lost, but she says that she will remain a "Southern Lady in her heart forever."

Alice is married, has two adult sons, and enjoys being a Grandmother. She and her husband currently reside in a small rural community at the base of the majestic Wasatch mountains of Utah, and she feels blessed to be able to call both Florida and Utah as "home."
